Once getting admitted, the contractions were closer and closer. Medicine is produced for a reason, and I was not going to pass it up. The epidural is a life saver and was my friend, a really good friend. I didn't mind feeling numb and having to have a catheter didn't bother me... as long as I didn't feel pain.
Pitocin was used to help me dilate to 10 cm, and as each hour passed we waited and waited. The sun went down, and rose the next day. I was only dilating to 8 cm, I couldn't get to 10. Finally the doctor came in and suggested we do a c-section, I was tired and ready to get the baby out. I said let's do it, I was ready. It all happened so fast, I was prepped and wheeled into another room. I was given more medicine, I could not feel a single thing. {Finally} At 11:22 a.m., Lucas Kane Denson was born at 7 pounds, 14 ounces and 21 1/4 inches in length. He is healthy and just perfect.
The three of us came home from the hospital on Friday, June 1st.
